MICRONUTRIENT PREMIX
Wheat Flour Premix
Wheat is one of the most widely consumed cereal grains that are produced worldwide; wheat flour is consumed in a range of forms that includes breads, biscuits, pastas, cakes, wafers and extruded products such as Noodles. Fortification of this staple offers a great deal to consumers, satisfying caloric requirements as well as alleviating the problem of hidden hunger.

Maize Flour Premix
The growing centralization of maize milling, its world-wide consumption, and the simplicity of the fortification technology make this vehicle a good choice for nutritional intervention. Overall stability of micronutrients in fortified maize flour stored at room temperature is good.

Milk and Milk Products
MILK – Nature’s most nearly perfect food. Besides protein and fat, dairy products provide a wide range of micronutrients, such as fat-soluble vitamins and calcium. However, most of these nutrients are lost during High temperature processing, which is why dairy fortification is important. Milk and milk powders are commonly fortified with vitamins A and D3. Both liquid and powder premixes are available from Hexagon Nutrition.

THERAPEUTIC MILK FORMULAE
(F75 AND F100 )

What are F75 and F100?
Malnutrition is one of the most serious health conditions in today’s world. How serious? 793 million people suffered from malnutrition as of 2015, according to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations – that’s approximately 13% of the world’s population.
Hexagon is committed to fighting malnutrition around the world, and two of the main weapons we provide against malnutrition are Pro Activa® F75 therapeutic milk and Pro Activa® F100 therapeutic milk. F75 and F100 have been designed to target and treat cases of severe malnutrition.
What is the difference between F75 and F100?
Pro Activa® F75
F75 therapeutic milk contains 75kcals per 100ml. F75 is used in the most severe cases of malnutrition. It is a high-energy milk (HEM) product that is usually given to infants whose bodies are incapable of tolerating regular nutrients. F75 is considered a ‘starter’ formula – that is, it is administered in the most extreme circumstances as a first step towards recovery.
Pro Activa® F100
F100 therapeutic milk contains 100kcals per 100 ml. Just as F75 is called a starter formula, F100 is often considered to be the ‘catch-up’ formula. It is used in cases where the infant has improved out of the most severe stage but the condition remains serious. F75 and F100 are high-energy products and contains the largest amount of nutrients that a malnourished infant is capable of absorbing.
Children suffering from severe acute malnutrition (SAM) often come to a rehabilitation center at a hospital with nothing in their stomach. They must first be given F75. Once their body shows signs of improvement, then F100 can be given, followed by micronutrient powders like Sprinkles.
What are F75 and F100 made from?
oth F75 and F100 contain milk solids, sugar, maltodextrin and vegetable fat, as well as specialized vitamin and mineral premixes in order to provide essential micronutrients. For decades, they have been used by a number of government organizations and NGOs like UNICEF to treat cases of malnutrition in severely malnourished areas all over the world. Hexagon is one of the few worldwide fortification providers who also produce RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods) and LNS (Lipid-based Nutrient Supplements).
Hexagon Nutrition is one of only a few manufacturers around the world who can make the proper formulation for these important resources. They are made with fat powder according to WHO guidelines.
